Orthotics (also called orthoses) are braces, splints, insoles and other external supports designed to support, protect or assist movement. Some orthoses are custom-made to suit an individual patient's needs. They are often used for conditions such as weak or unstable joints, foot or leg differences, recovery after an injury or surgery, or conditions like cerebral palsy and clubfoot that affect movement. At Ortho Pakistan, the focus is particularly on braces and supports for the legs and feet. Because every patient's condition is different, individual assessment and proper fitting matter.
This includes custom orthotics, orthotic braces and foot orthotics, with options such as AFO (ankle-foot orthosis), KAFO (knee-ankle-foot orthosis) and knee braces. Orthotic support can also include diabetic foot orthotics, clubfoot orthotics and cerebral palsy orthotics, as well as spinal orthotics and other external supports. Ortho Pakistan also provides prosthetics and physiotherapy, with care led by an orthotist and prosthetist. The clinic is based in Satellite Town near Bilal Hospital, with patients also able to connect from Islamabad and Lahore.
Every patient's needs are different. These answers explain the clinic's approach before you reach out.
Not every orthosis is custom-made. Some supports are ready-made while others may be customized to an individual's needs after assessment.
